Breaking New Ground

After all the COVID delays, we finally have all the approvals in place to start building Capela.
We took advantage of the fact that most of the people who have journeyed with us were at the BMC Church Camp in Johor and organised our Ground Breaking and Land Blessing ceremony on 17 June 2023, right after the camp ended.
Feeding the Faithful
We had a seafood lunch at Bora Bora Botanist Cafe just across the marina from the land and we shared our vision and mission for Capela with a group of friends.

Then we all piled into a convoy of cars headed over to the land. I'll let the pictures tell the story.
Arriving at the Site
God was truly kind with the weather. There were light showers of blessings while we were worshipping in the tent, followed by beautiful cool and shady skies when we went out of the tent to break the ground and prayer-walked the land.
Starting the Service
Rev Gabriel officiated the service, with a new liturgy written by him and Anthony. Paul led worship with two sounds of surrender, thanksgiving and praise. Vincent, Suzanne and Isaac also shared a few words.
"We Break This Ground, TODAY!"
Everyone participated in the Response by physically breaking the ground - the most fun part! (Sound on!)
Prayer Walk
We were led in worship to prayer walk all corners of the land, singing "You are Worthy of It All!"
Wine, Worship and Weather
The ceremony ended with wine shared by those present (thank you, Thomas, for the wine and for volunteering as Culinary Consultant!) as we reflected on the faithfulness of God, and His gift of perfect weather for the occasion. A light sprinkling of rain as showers of blessing, followed by shade from the sun was timed perfectly to soften the ground and we were kept dry under the tent during the wet weather. The ground was cool and yet not muddy. His mercies never end!
